I began my Co-op program at Azure 6 months ago in December of 2015. My time here has helped to confirm my interest in the video industry.  I learned a lot about different equipment, programs to edit with, and ways to improve my work. Above all I learned the importance of being resourceful, diligent, and personable. Although I may not have all these traits, this is a goal for me to strive for. When I had arrived at Azure I thought that I knew a lot about how to shoot videos, only to realize that there is a lot more going on behind the scenes than I realized. I was fortunate to have Caine take me on shoots, to learn more about how things are set up and to teach me about what to look for when composing a shot. During those shoots I learned about working with clients and working efficiently and productively.

While filming on set with Caine I was exposed to different lenses such as the 14mm f2.8 Canon prime, and cameras such as the Canon C100. I also learned the importance of good audio and lighting. Caine  has introduced me to the program Sony Vegas 12, which I use as my primary editing program. Caine also introduced me to After effects and the capabilities that it introduces in post-production.

I was also responsible for writing 2 blogs every month, this helped me learn a lot about things that I would have never looked into, for example here I wrote a blog about why DSLRs are still superior to mirrorless cameras. This forced me to do more research into the pros and cons of mirrorless Cameras and DSLRs. I also learned how to write better blogs, and to carefully read over them for any mistakes. Thanks Myrna for catching all my mistakes and correcting me!

Overall this was a great experience. I learned a lot about filming videos, and learned a lot about myself. This experience allowed me to grow as a person and realize what I have to work on. Getting a chance to test drive a career that I was interested in has provided me with invaluable experience, and I would do it all over again.
